Privacy
This page collects the smallest amount of information I can get away with, and here is exactly what happens to it.
What I collect
When you submit the claim form, I receive your name, your email address, the store and format of your preorder, the receipt image or PDF you upload, and anything you choose to put in the optional note field. That’s the entire list. This site doesn’t have accounts, cookies you need to worry about, or ad trackers.
What it’s used for
One thing: verifying your preorder and adding a complimentary year of Read Your Color premium to the Substack account attached to the email you gave me. I look at the receipt, I comp the year, and that’s the end of its job.
Who else touches it
- Claim submissions, including uploaded receipt files, are processed and stored through Netlify Forms so I can review and fulfill them.
- The free year is applied through Substack, which already has whatever information you gave them when you subscribed.
- This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see whether the preorder links get clicked. You can block it with any standard content blocker and everything here still works.
Receipt privacy
Receipts can contain personal information. Please upload only the portion needed to verify the preorder and crop out full card numbers, bank details, or other payment information. Large phone photos may be resized and converted to JPEG in your browser before upload so the submission stays within the form service’s file limits.
What I will never do
Sell your information, share it with anyone beyond the services named above, or add you to any mailing list you didn’t sign up for. Submitting a receipt does not subscribe you to anything by itself — it unlocks the paid tier if you’re a subscriber, or comps your first year when you become one.
Deletion
Receipts have no reason to live forever. I periodically clear fulfilled submissions and intend to remove the remaining claim data after the offer closes and the complimentary subscriptions are settled. If you want your submission deleted sooner, contact me through my usual Read Your Color contact channel.
